McAllister established C&M Online Media, Inc. and Boson Books. She was drawn to online publishing because of her history in print publishing. How would online publishing be different from print publishing? What would be the inherent processes for acquisition and editing? For book preparation and distribution? What would be the additional possibilities for digitized text and images? Nancy was the managing editor of Postmodern Culture, the first online journal in the humanities. PMC was published on the Internet before the availability of the World Wide Web. In 1976, as a celebration of the bicentennial, Nancy began The New South Company to publish the work of a group of Southern poets. The New South Company became a vehicle for publishing several books by Southern authors. Before that she edited both print and film at the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta. Jack Fritz, Director of Outreach and Distribution, received the Ed.D. at North Carolina State University with graduate degrees in counseling and adult education. After a career in public health and medical education, which includes a faculty position in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, he specializes in consultations in statistical analysis, project management, and market research. Further, he has served on several distinguished boards. |
